Liz and Alec are en route to a wedding for Alec’s boss when they collide with the runaway Bride. Battle lines are drawn when Liz and Alec oppose each other about what to do: Liz is determined to help her, but Alec insists on leaving immediately for fear of losing his job. Things get complicated after the Bride disappears into the woods and an inquisitive Cop arrives on the scene—further dividing Liz and Alec—and forcing them in a predicament: tell the truth and face the consequences, or lie to escape scot-free.
Breakdown is our team's MFA Thesis Film for Boston University's Cinema and Media Production program. Since August, we have worked diligently to get this short film ready for production--from script development to the preproduction process of casting and securing locations. We hope to use Breakdown as a calling card for our future careers. As aspiring filmmakers, we want to take this experience and apply it to feature narrative filmmaking.
We've turned to Kickstarter to raise additional production funds to cover the hard costs of location fees, transportation, craft services, and specialty equipment. You can check out the campaign here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/jloganalexander/breakdown-an-anti-romantic-comedy?ref=created_projects
Winner of the Andrew S. Horton Screenplay Award and named Best Short Contest Screenplay at the 2015 Twister Alley Film Festival, Wrung kicked off principle photography on June 10, 2015 in Kingfisher, Oklahoma.
With a crew of fellow students and friends from the University of Oklahoma, cast including Bill Brewer (The Scent of Rain & Lightning, Oscar’s Family Jewels) and Tye Chapman (Four Hours), director J. Logan Alexander set out to make an honest film about life in rural Oklahoma.
This short video documents the intense workload undertaken by a crew of student filmmakers and their quest to achieve a cinematic vision.
